Costello, M.D. is board certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry and has been in practice in the DFW, North Texas area since 1996.  He has been practicing in his current location in Highland Village, Texas since 2012.   Dr. Costello trained at University of Texas Southwestern in Psychiatry, and he is a Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association.  He is recognized for his continued dedication to excellence in clinical care and makes every effort to use the most up-to-date psychiatric assessment, medication management and treatment strategies which are conservative, compassionate, and research-based.

Dr. Costello was the first TMS clinical provider in the state of Texas and in the DFW area to use FDA approved TMS treatment for Major Depressive Disorder.  Because of Dr. Costello’s mission to provide the highest quality medical care to his patients, he endeavors to create a professional and calming environment at DFW TMS resulting in the most comprehensive and individualized psychiatric care which includes the following:  evaluations, referrals to other medical and psychological caregivers, individual therapy and parent and family guidance. Dr. Costello’s goal is for each patient to become as reasonably joyful and functional as their individual strengths will allow them to be.

Patricia Brooks, RN, PMHNP is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner caring for patients of all ages.  She is joined the team in 2018.  She graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Arlington and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of California Irvine, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  Prior to entering the field of psychiatry, she spent most of her nursing career working in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit, caring for patients with strokes or traumatic brain injuries, and supporting their families.

Patricia completed the PULSES TMS training course and attended the International TMS conference in New York City in 2018.  Patricia believes in the value and benefit of rTMS for patients with treatment resistant depression and has seen the positive effect rTMS has made in their lives.

Patricia enjoys spending time with her family when she is not working.  She has also served as Secretary for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Association of North Texas and as an area representative for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Association of Texas.

Brittany Huckaby, MSN, PMHNP-BC

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas, Brittany worked as a pediatric cardiac intensive care nurse for over eight years at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Children’s Medical City Dallas, and Children’s Health Dallas. While caring for critically ill children and their families, Brittany recognized the increased needs in the mental health field. It was at that point she decided to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing degree and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is now a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Brittany’s goal is to provide holistic and compassionate care that allow patients to be fully well.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Jennifer Mitchell, PMHNP-BC

Jennifer Mitchell received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. She planned to attend graduate school and become a therapist. However, after much consideration, she decided to become a nurse and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Oklahoma. She spent the next 16 years working as a bedside nurse in the cardiac and medical intensive care units.

Eventually, Jennifer felt it was time to move from bedside care. While working with patients and their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives, she was reminded of her passion for mental health. She then obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Arlington and is now a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Jennifer aims to help her patients through both medical and non-medical approaches. She is excited about the options for Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) which The Costello Clinic has to offer. These include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Spravato, and generic nasal ketamine spray).

When Jennifer is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Gregg and their two playful pups, Wrigley and Soldier. She enjoys traveling and loves arts and crafts.
